Sustainable Forestry & Operations around McKenzie Lake
The presenter, Julie Edwards, is the Planning Forester for the Bancroft Minden Forest Company. She grew up in Etobicoke, Toronto and was fortunate to have a cottage in the Bracebridge area to spend much of her time. This fostered her love for the outdoors and to pursue a career in forestry. She spent 12 years living and working in the Northwestern Ontario before moving to Bancroft to be closer to her family and in the Great Lakes St. Lawrence forest region again.
Her presentation will outline what sustainable forest management is, how it is implemented locally and what McKenzie Lake cottagers can anticipate during the current approved Forest Management Plan.
